Celebration of 22nd International Migrant Day took placed on December 16 at the Yaung Chi Oo Workers’ Association.
Mainly talked about the reasons and background why doing the anniversary of International Migrant Day by a coordinator from Yaung Chi Oo and by some participants from membered organizations. While celebrated, with activity of quizzing and prizing to keep in touch with all the workers and some participants who attended in the celebration.
A worker gave speech to share about his experiences and how he won the case that was to get minimum wages 226 baht. He said “I am happy to participate in this important day. I really appreciate meeting not only workers also students and others. It is good questioning quizzes about general knowledge of workers’ rights”.
Even though International Migrant Day is held on December 18, it was actually taken on Sunday December 16 because it is the weekend as well as holiday of some workers who would be able to participate in this important day of migrant workers. To the anniversary of this day, celebrated together with MRPWG, FED, other CBO, migrant workers and students.
