The local people who
are living near Kan Kyay Sin Mountain and Sabal mountain suffering unknown
diseases, caused by air pollution and using wastewater.
Since 2010, people are
facing with death cause of weird diseases mostly liver cancers and increasing
death rates. There are over 20 people who caused of death by those diseases.
They couldn’t get well treatments.
In those areas, copper
mining project and building Acid Factory are mainly focused to increase
products. Therefore, People from that area are everyday breathing polluted air
which come from the factory and also drinking water used by the wells get
polluted cause of using chemical at the copper mining. At the same time,
farming gets negative effects of polluted wastewater. Farmers lost some of
their domestic animals such as cows and goats drinking polluted water near factory.
However it is, the government still doesn’t deal with that problems and no
health care.
Currently, there are
6,461 areas affected by the polluted wastewater, owned by 1266 people who are
in each of 10 villages around the factory. However, they lost their farmlands
and don’t even get compensations for their confiscated lands.
