Yaung
Chi Oo Workers’ Association organized Labor talk based on labor rights and
labor union at Pha Htaung village, Mae Taung, Maesot on May 7.
There were 10 Male workers and 10 Female workers
participants and discussed about concerning with labors’ rights, wages, work
time, health care and basic labor rights that are being abused on labors.
Workers
have not got the minimum wages 350 if they worked 8 hours a day and they still
have to work between 10 hours and 12 hours.
The
facilitators analyzed abusing Myanmar migrant workers’ rights and opportunities
shows the employers ignored Thai Labor law and human rights and Thai authorities
need to force the employers to respect and care on labor rights.
“ The reason of having
Labor talk is to educate labor rights and
labor union for workers and the workers will be able to quit from being
abused if they become aware of rights” said by one of the facilitator, in
charge of this Talk.

Chi Oo Workers’ Association has been organizing Labor rights, Human rights and
Labor Union Talks once in month and it has been 18 years that YCOWA has been
helping for migrants workers.
