Workers demand for rise up their minimum wages at Bago Township


About 1500 workers from Shin Soung garment factory from Bago Town demonstrated to get raised of minimum wages, to solve cut wages and to get health cares.

Ko Aung Myo Win from Bago Township said “they started from 12 am without going to work, mainly focused on rising of minimum wages and to hire back a Korean manager who were being laid off recently by two Burmese managers as well as being cut their wages for medical aid but there is no health cares, that is why they are not scarified for that”.

 “Although the employer said all the workers to rise up amount of salary after 3 months of working, they didn’t get any responds from employer. Therefore, when they requested to manager, they got little amount of salary 1500 kyat for each. Now they are being anger about that breaking promise from employer”.

 “Some workers and employer negotiated with some officers included U Aung Kyaw Oo, in charge of legal from Bago Workers’ office to get a clear solution and the last results will be speak out to all the workers”, said a demonstrator.

If they didn’t get their demands from employer, all of them will not be working and quit from the Garment factory that is owned by a Korean.
