At the
Dagon Port Industrial Zone, Asia Dragon Sewing Factory which has over 1400
workers caused striking between two groups of labor union. One has over 100
workers leaded by Moe Lin on the side of employer have demonstrated to fire
another group has only over 100 workers leaded by Nyan Lin Aung.
“There
was no trade union at the factory before. So, our trade union leaded by Nyan
Lin Aung set up and demanded for the health care of workers. We didn’t do
anything that will be make employer annoys. Now the other side persuades us to
join with them by using threats”, said a member of Nyan Lin Aung’s group.
While our
labor union is growing by peace and justice, the employer tries to detrimental with
various reasons to cause problems among workers. To deal with those problems,
negotiated with U Soe Tint, officer of department of labor, Daw Win, mother of
factory owner and U Myo Aung township representative.
